Wherever I look I see faces, characters, fantastical beings of many natures; primeval, cartoon like, beautiful, funny, shy, feminine, dark, lordly, sexual, mischievous, ghostly …

Trees embody and mirror the diversity of every aspect of life. Being free from ego and the constraints people place on themselves, they do not lie about the nature of things. I was born and brought up in Kashmir surrounded by the vast and beautiful wilderness of the Himalayas, as long as I can remember Ive had a love of the natural world. I spent my twenties and more living in a concrete jungle in the middle of London. Along with music and people I loved, it was the small green spaces that filled me with joy. I was always cheered by the knowledge that the noisy, dusty railway nearby led to parts of England which were lush and green.
